The Barnard Family • Thwane Safaris

YOUR AFRICAN STORY STARTS HERE

Thwane takes its name from the Tswana word for caracal. Founded by outfitter Marius Barnard, the safari business brings together a family passion for hunting and nature, with his sons Rhuan and Marno working as professional hunters. This profile focuses on their Namibia destination, with Marno as the local contact.

Build your trip around Namibia’s plains game, a specialist Tiny Four hunt or the supplied leopard offer. Bring an observer, add time for wildlife photography, or ask the team to shape a journey around your preferred species and dates.

The hilltop lodge looks across mountain country and open bushveld. Separate en-suite chalets have private viewing decks; the main lodge offers a lounge, dining spaces, a waterhole-facing sundowner deck, swimming pool, bar and fireside boma. It is a setting for unhurried evenings after a day in the field.
